The Virtue of Reciting Duas in the Morning and Evening
Reciting du’as (supplications) during the morning and evening is a practice full of blessings, drawing us closer to Allah and seeking His protection and mercy. These du’as serve as a shield, ensuring safety and peace, and remind us to remain in constant remembrance of Allah. By doing so, believers align their hearts with divine guidance and are protected from harm throughout the day and night.
Allah says in the Qur’an:
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ ذِكْرًا كَثِيرًا . وَسَبِّحُوهُ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا
“O you who have believed, remember Allah with much remembrance and exalt Him morning and afternoon.”
(Surah Al-Ahzab, 33:41-42)
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also highlighted the protection and blessings of these du’as. He said:
“Whoever says in the evening: ‘Bismillah, with whose name nothing on Earth or in the Heaven can harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing,’ three times, will not be harmed by anything.”
(سُنن أبي داود, حديث 5088)
Reciting these du’as fulfills the sunnah, grants us divine protection, and brings tranquility to our lives at the crucial times of dawn and dusk. It is an opportunity for spiritual growth, gratitude, and divine connection, keeping us mindful of our purpose as servants of Allah.
