"What you seek is seeking you — so why do you still wander, asking the road for what already walks beside you?"— after Rumi
Verses After the Masters
Original poetry written in the spirit of those who came before — not translation, but a quiet attempt to carry their themes into new words.
The Veil of Light
after Al-GhazaliIn the stillness of the heart's deep night,
where whispers of the soul take flight,
a single flame begins to glow,
the light that only stillness shows.
The soul, like water, flows to the sea.
In the realm of the infinite, we are free.
Every veil we thought was real
was only distance we could feel.
So let the heart forget its haste,
and taste what hurry cannot taste —
for what is sought was never far,
only hidden behind the veil we are.
"Poetry is the closest thing to revelation that's left to us once the heart has been emptied of itself."
